Touch Football - October-December, 2012 ****Updated December 11, 2012****
Khye
Three of the boys were very excited to try touch football this year. Teams are meant to organise themselves and register as an entire team. We didn't know how to go about finding a team so we put out a call for help. Weeks later, the lady organising the entire league gave us a call. She had put Khye on a team that was short of players. As it turns out, it is a team of Year 1 players from GEPS and Khye knew most of them! He may be small but he is mighty and he LOVES to run! He has yet to score a try but he gives it his all every week! **Update - Today were the boys' last touch games. Khye scored his very first 2 tries! Thank you, Charlie, for being such a generous teammate and helping Khye score.**
Kent
Kent was a lot easier to organise! He heard his friends talking about touch football and Jesse's Dad, Tony, is the coach. I rang Tony and he signed Kent up and even paid the registration fee! I believe the team was undefeated last year and they are off to a cracker start again this season! The team is made up of Year 5 boys from GEPS. Kent is a quick runner too and he also loves to play touch. (Thanks to Howard who stayed and took these photos. I went home after it started to rain. I'm too wimpy to watch touch in the rain wearing my fancy Melbourne Cup clothes!)
Cody
Cody is also playing touch with friends. He is on the same team as Lucas. The team is very laid back and is not too competitive. Anyone who knows Cody know that he is intense and super competitive...can you see the problem here? Cody likes playing touch and spending time with friends. He wishes his team was more competitive with some of the other teams they play. At least they win for the most colourful uniforms...which is probably lost on my colourblind son!
