It is now mid spring and the weather has warmed up significantly!  This week, we had temps in the high 20s to mid 30s!  We haven't found a weekend to make it down to the river so we did the next best thing: we camped at the Fabris' farm!  (Cody's mate, Lucas and family)  This weekend, WE refers to the Fabris, Bennett, Irvin and Jackson families.  Between us, we have 12 boys and 1 girl!

After kid cricket on Friday night and Saturday morning, the dads played cricket against each other all Saturday afternoon.  By early evening, we all met at the farm and unpacked ourselves.

The evening was warm.  We ate supper, set up beds in the tents and swags and ate (Australian) marshmallows around the fire.

Bedtime came around midnight as we packed our 6 big boys in the tent trailer, 5 of our little boys in the big tent and 2 girls in the small tent.  (Nicole had a friend.)  The adults all had swags or drove home to their own beds.  The boys were quite good considering the large numbers but I did have to remind the littlest Jackson that he is only 5 and he should be asleep by 1:20am instead of talking hockey!!!

Our 1st Australian swag experience was comfortable, warm and dry!

6 boys and 1 dog out on the track.

Our early morning plan was to let the boys ride bikes before it got too hot.

And so, after yummy bacon & egg rolls for breakfast, our Sunday morning consisted of 4 hours of dirtbikes, packing up tents/swags and cooking lunch in the campovens.

The morning heated up quickly but those boys would not quit!  There were 5 or 6 of them riding at all times.  11 of the boys and 3 of the dads took their turns.

Moms took pictures and applied sunscreen!

The only non-bike riding boy. He still has no interest in riding a two wheeled bike but give him a scooter anyday!

Brian cooked us lunch: roast pork and lamb!
After a campfire lunch, some boys took a quick swim, a couple went back to the track and most just lazed around.  We parents tried to collect and sort the treasures belonging to our 13 overtired cherubs and then we relaxed with dessert and (more) drinks!  It was a super weekend (was it really only 20 hours?!?!)  and something that we should do more of at home in Canada with our friends.  We all talk about spending more time visiting but we all go about our busy lives and just never get there.  Maybe next year?!?

Our guys were powering down by mid afternoon! They ate lunch and watched more dirtbiking on TV. Reece was already asleep!
Thank you, Tiz, Glenn, Nicole, Lucas and Reece, for setting up tents, arranging food and hosting all 22 of us this weekend.  I'll be ready to host anytime you show up on my doorstep!  JJ

I would give you an A+ for all your 'write-ups and pictures' from the year--I continue to enjoy them and 'I'm learning about Australia too'!!!
